Community Care Commons Design

Conceptual design of a combination space of a PACE(Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) center and daycare on an underutilized parcel of land in San Luis Obispo. I conducted research regarding the services in the local and greater area, determined a fit site, and then designed a multi-use common space for the 2 main users. A daycare with a large playground and field was designed adjacent to the PACE center with a drop-off loop and staff parking lot on site. A rooftop garden was added as a shared space for the 2 groups to interact, with ADA access available for the elderly users.
